You can now find items just by describing them. Type something like a long dress with stars, purple gothic, a held umbrella, or cat ears, and Stylist Search shows you the closest matching items from across the whole game. No more trying to remember the exact name. You can search by the look or the feeling you have in mind.
Results appear as on model pictures in a clean gallery. Tap any item to open its page. You can focus on a single category like dresses or hair, narrow further into sub types such as necklaces or leglets, and when you are signed in you can see which items you already own right there in the results. Every search is shareable too. The address in your browser carries it, so you can send a search straight to a friend.
Each result also has a copy button that copies the exact item name, so you can paste it into the game while you are putting an outfit together for a competition or just for fun.
It works from the other direction too. Open any item page and you will see a new Style and appearance section that lists its look, themes and details. Tap any of those and Stylist Search brings up more items like it, so one piece you love leads you straight to others.
Stylist Search is free for everyone. It is a complete rebuild of the old stylist search, which only ever covered a small handful of items and was much harder to use.
For NI Extra supporters there is a little more. You can gather items from your searches into named mood boards that save to your account, so you can plan a competition outfit, collect a colour theme, or simply keep the looks you love in one place. Add an item to a board with a tap, give the board a name, and open it any time as its own gallery. If you are not a supporter yet you can still see exactly how mood boards work, and connecting your Patreon unlocks them along with the rest of NI Extra.
You will find it in the menu under Stylist Search. Your boards live on the Mood Boards page.
This page is new. From now on, whenever something changes on Nikki's Info, we will jot it down here so you can see what is new at a glance.
The guide picks souls more wisely now. It takes the soul's spirit skill bonus into account, so it suggests the soul that actually scores highest for a stage and stops occasionally leaving the soul slot empty. Recommended items also group all the headwear together in the usual order, which makes the suggestions easier to follow.
More than 33,000 items now have a preview on the site, shown on Nikki so you can see how each one actually looks when it is worn. That is 33,219 items, every single one we have art for.
It now includes the animated ones too, like flowing hair, drifting petals, butterflies and falling flowers, and even the effect only pieces like Lunar Fragrance and Butterfly Dance. The only item still without a preview is an item not used in the game (including the CN version).
A big pass over the previews fixed a lot of small things. Skin tones, tattoos and face decals now show properly instead of being hidden, around 654 shoes show their full art, several dresses that were missing panels render correctly, and a few items that used to show a bare body now show their modesty layer. Makeup previews are cropped to the face so they no longer trail a long strand of hair down the image.
